doulos
he’s a slave of a bad guy turned good sorta. Not good enough too free doulas… yet.
Most of the time he’s pretty docile until he’s told to fight or track then he’s one of the most dangerous people on the planet if not the most dangerous. Part of a group bred for 71 generations by an Egyptian/Asian elite cult family. His body has had ancient secret processes applied to it granting him various abilities including longevity, uncanny strength, and “the vision”. Those ancient processes combined with the cult’s embedded hyper modern technologies have also given him strange limited power over the universal ambient energy. He’s been brutally but carefully trained since birth in secret Egyptian, Indian and Asian martial arts and physical control. Fluent in many languages, spy craft and tactical warfare.

LaPex: the Keeper of the Mazu
seriously
From a traveling neutral galaxy a with a small living system. LaPex is the keeper of a that galaxies “Mazu” a sentient energy life force that is connected the neutral energy that powers the galaxies travels. LaPex and the Mazu are symbionts. (the Mazu is behind his stomach plate there). The galaxy has a lot of different kinds of beings but not very many in number. They tend ,in general, to be very curious but peaceful. Some like LaPex generally just want to be left the heck alone. He’s pompous, arrogant and generally self absorbed. He won’t pick a fight but will not be stopped in his purposes small or great. When ever their galaxy nears living planets part of his job is to inspect them to make sure that his people can visit without undue risk. They WILL visit and they will not be harmed as long a LaPex has anything to say about it.

I went searching around the web for golden age stuff for an online forum’s art jam a while back and found the coolest oddball crazy stuff. LOVE it! Here’s my take on a couple of characters and the genre/times in general.

STARDUST and FANTOMAH -”the most remarkable man and woman in the world ever, ever, ever!” that’s what their comics say. I believe they both are in the public domain at this point, Stardust is for sure. I think.
